2. Lynchburg's Finest (20) 2-0- Few things can describe the defending champion-- The flowing robes, the grace, bald... striking. Big efforts from big names...long...in the first few weeks have powered the Finest scoring. The Big-Ass gavel and the division lead are on the line in week 3.

3. Ostentatious Erudition (10) 2-0- Suck on Brees Nutz! Wants to gavel back badly after having surrendered it the past two seasons.

Athlon Preview-- TCFL Season VII

1. Bonnie Blues- With a running back corp that features two of the game's brightest young stars in Chris Johnson and Ray Rice, he has nice balance and depth at wide receiver as well. Steve Smith, Chad Ochocinqo, and Mike Sims-Walker bolster and team that won a championship in spite of its QB and WR play a year ago.

Joseph Addai rests as a solid insurance policy at #3 on his RB depth chart. Keeping 6, along with the first two picks in the second round gives the defending champ all he needs to build another championship roster with the first QB off the board and a high-priority TE or RB.

Over-under: 9-4

2. Part Time Models- Alan's 4 first-round picks reflects some serious foresight on the part of the former champ. Only two seasons removed from his first league title, Alan saw a need to rebuild an aging roster. Tom Brady, Calvin Johnson, and Andre Johnson constitute a long-term commitment to the passing game. His running backs, Reshard Mendenhall and Michael Turner, have some serious upside. One consistent runner and one other young runner will likely be garnered in the Mak'er's first round, which will give the Models enough power in the run game to light up Chicago.

In a division that has only one other pre-season powerhouse, the Models are a solid pick atop the Dixon Conference.

Over-under: 10-3

3. Mafia Hitmen- This is an owner that should not be under-estimated, having won four of six Dixon Conference crowns. MJD and Steve Jackson head up a remarkably talented running stable. Peyton Manning will drive consistency in the passing game, while Vincent Jackson and Brandon Marshall need only average seasons to help this team compete on the highest levels.

Junior's two second round picks are in his wheel-house of drafting expertise, and should snag some nice talent to build upon there.

Over-under: 9-4

4. Lynchburg's Finest- Only a substitution away from his second title last year, some changes at running back and a minority share of the first round picks (1,4 & 8), the former commish has some options in keeping up with McIntyre's Johnsons.

Peterson, D. Williams, and Moreno power the back field, while consistency at WR is key to a successful 2010 campaign.

Over-under: 9-4

5. The Federalists- Still so good after a toilet bowl season a year ago, key additions at RB and WR give this team new life, and legitimate championship hopes in season VII.

Drew Brees, Randy Moss, and Greg Jennings lend explosiveness to the deepest RB corp in the league with Frank Gore, Ronnie Brown, LeSean McCoy, and Jamaal Charles.

His team may be favored to win the other conference out-right, but the top-heavy Mason Conference provides some stiff competition to run away with anything.

Over-under: 8-5

6. Truman's Harpo- A roster featuring Philip Rivers, a stable corp of three-deep at RB, and serious threats at wide-out give the TCFL its deepest group of actual contenders ever.

Reavus made serious adjustments to an aging roster in the off-season, and puts himself right where he wants to be coming into his second TCFL season. Known as a long-term architect, Reavus' unorthodox draft strategies are a safer play coming into season VII because of his play-off security.

In a division where anything can happen, all the fantasy guru will need are a couple of good drafts, trades, or waiver picks to make a serious play off run.

Over-under: 8-5

7. Quagmire Crackerjacks- If Bobby B can hold on to a few key spots on his roster, upgrades at running back are the only thing keeping him from fantasy stardom.

Aaron Rodgers, Reggie Wayne, Percy Harvin, and Antonio Gates are solids around which to build. The other running back stables in his own division make Jacobs and Barber look weak, but only a few good moves are needed to put him in play-off contention.

Over-under: 5-8

8. Shatty Dawgs- The defending Toilet Bowl Champ has a roster that would make his cousin want to sit down and cry. Although he's better now than the start of the off-season, Foxxy needs his cowboys to come up big to even stay in the playoff hunt through the first half of the season. 1. Part Time Models- The defending champs are talented, young, and very balanced. His RB trio of Turner, Jacobs, and Gore are enough to make any team elite....throw in Tom Brady and Calvin Johnson, you have a roster poised for a second straight championship run, as Alan is well out in front of his conference competition.

Over-Under: 10-3

2. Federalists- Can he stay on top of the Mason division? A lack of off-season trading showed some real faith in his young team. Brees and Andre Johnson secure an upper-echelon passing game, while the young and explosive Maurice Jones-Drew and Matt Forte have the "Heel Grabber" eying back-to-back conference championships.

Over-Under: 8-5

3. Bonnie Blues- It's hard to deny his elite talent (that's what she said), with a deep RB corp of Chris Johnson, DeAngelo Williams, and Marion Barber-- as well as top-tier players in a complete passing game-- Jay Cutler, Anquan Boldin, and Steve Smith-- Mac's Blues are more balanced than ever before heading into a season. Can that translate into the Blues finally conquering the conference when it counts?

Over-Under: 8-5

4. Lynchburg's Finest- Only two players from Roon's last game remain on the keeper list. Will the trades pay off, or will he find himself in re-building mode again as he did early last season? Reigning Tuesman RB, Adrian Peterson headlines the rushing attack alongside solid veteran Clinton Portis, with Darren McFadden as a questionable insurance policy.

The receiving trio puts much confidence in the QB draft pool, as big time talents Larry Fitzgerald, Marques Colston, and Antonio Gates will try to put one of the league's historical powerhouses back into title contention after last year's debacle.

Over-Under: 8-5

5. Reaves Franchise- Known as a dominate player because of his savvy drafts and solid trades, Skeevus inherits a very talented team that only needs a few good selections to be considered the front-runner for the Dixon Conference crown. The only question mark for Reavus is surrounding his team name.

Former Tuesman Trophy winner, LaDainian Tomlinson is his #1 with Ronnie Brown and Joseph Addai geared up for prime fantasy seasons in 2009. Randy Moss and Roy Williams bring talent to the passing game....the rest is in the able hands of the seasoned veteran and former PCFL champ to build.

Over-Under: 9-4

6. Quagmire Crackerjacks- Uncle Bobby B enters year one of his TCFL tenure with a solid team in a stacked Mason Conference. He has good depth at WR-- Reggie Wayne, Greg Jennings-- as well as a young and explosive prospect in second year running back Steve Slayton, while Brian Westbrook and T. Jones lend veteran stability to the corp.

Look for Bobby to come out swinging with a his bevy of first round picks, including the #1 overall selection, to secure a bright future and a competitive team.

Over-Under: 6-7

7. Mafia Hitmen- Junior "took one for the team" jumping on the grenade of Timmy's Tussified roster. The two time champ whipped the team into respectable shape with a off-season trading spree, but it may not be enough to jump start his championship ambitions in season VI.

Almost every player on the squad is counting on their "upside" to be any thing other than a distant third in the Dixon Conference. Peyton Manning will be the lynch-pin, while Steve Jackson and Marshawn Lynch will have to prove their current worth with solid campaigns in 2009. Meanwhile, Junior's receivers-- Dwayne Bowe and Roddy White-- rely on very young and mostly inexperienced QBs to find their fantasy rhythm.

Over-Under: 5-8

8. Salty Dawgs- We all love Troy Foxwell, even if he didn't vote for any of us, but that doesn't change the fact that he remains one of our favorite people. You'll notice that the other seven teams have facts about their roster in this space under their name. Let me say this....may the Dixon Conference take his team home early in the season to be with Jesus. To be at rest. To be at peace. We look forward to seeing Foxxy at the draft though....because it'll be the last time we hear from the Salty Dawg franchise in 2009.

Over-Under: This team may win exactly one more game than my grandfather would all by himself, and he's been dead for 20 years.

4. Tyrannical Tebaggers 3-1- Getting wins, but will he be able to hold on with injuries and inconsistency?

5. Blowouts 2-2- Some serious "upside players" have the original champ in the hunt again.

6. Bonnie Blues 2-2- Solid all the way around and put up points in a loss...but the injuries are mounting and the wins aren't coming easily.

7. Salty Dawgs 0-4- Not catching any breaks and has some real personnel problems.

8. Hurricane Ditka 1-3- The fall from grace continues with the least points scored in the league through the first month.

Week 2 Rankings

1. Hardcore Mezzbians (68)1-0- Good showing in an exciting Monday Night win over the defending champ.

2. Part Time Models (32)1-0- Big Blowout (ppplllllbbbbtttt) to start-off the season.

3 Bushwood Gophers 0-1- Very close, and a solid enough showing. This team is dangerous and poised for another nice season.

4 Tyrannical Teabaggers 1-0- Good win in a low-scoring game.

5. Bonnie Blues 1-0- Week 1 was costly for the future of the Blues franchise.

6. Blowouts 0-1- It's hard to get excited about a loss, but the defending toilet bowl champ has some things to get the fans excited about the future. It won't be on the bench in week 2.

7. Salty Dawgs 0-1- Needs to keep building around some key components. Just not a great showing, but he'll be in the running for the playoffs before it's all over.

8. Hurricane Ditka 0-1- Probably got too trade happy and far-sited with the youth movement last year and in the off-season. It could really cost this franchise dearly.

2008 Week 1 Standings

After very little activity in the off-season and a shallow draft pool, the rankings aren't surprising at all for week 1.

1. Bushwood Gophers (100)- You have to take the hill before you can de-throne the King. A solid corp of keepers prevented his lackluster draft from hurting him so badly.

2. Hurricane Ditka- Still in re-building mode, but very dangerous with the best RB stable in the league.

3. Hardcore Mezzbians- "Even in hell, I still don't get any respect!"

4. Bonnie Blues- The sisterhood of the traveling pant suits is still trying to break that glass ceiling.

5. Part Time Models- Too much talent to be on the floor again...but it's still a long way to the top.

6. Tantalizing Teabaggers- Some explosiveness belies the undercurrent of the roster, but there's a log jam of talent infront of him in the Mason Conference.

7. Salty Dawgs- Eeessssh. Too many questions. Usually starts strong though.

8. Blowouts- pppppppplllllllllbbbbbbbbbtttttttttt. fffffeeeeeppp. honk, honk.

3. Bonnie Blues 10-5- A great run of a season that is rewarded with another trip down to Savannah for some Sugar.

4. Hardcore Mezzbians 7-8- Back to his familiar bowl game in his third season.

Conference Championships (Week 15)

3. Bushwood Gophers 7-6- An off week, and now hosting a team he has had trouble against all season. Can he make his third appearance in the league's most prestigious game.

4. Hardcore Mezzbians 7-7- Toilet to conference championship. Nice rebound year for the Godfather.

5. Bad Newz Kennels 7-7- Back to back trips to Kentucky for the Bourbon Bowl.

6. Blowjays 5-9- Not on the toilet, and getting to rename his own team for next season.

7. Part Time Poopers 5-8- A toilet triumph would be a nice recompense over the heel-grabber.

8. Coalition of the Shitting 3-10- Get ready to rename the Coalition for season V.

Playoffs, Round 1 (Week 14)

3. Hardcore Mezzbians 4-3- Is a losing streak starting? Still tied atop the Dixon Conference, but will be in some serious fist fight the next three weeks.

4. Bad Newz Kennels 4-3- Took a loss with the Reggie Wayne Monday Night insanity. Still in the hunt.

5. Bushwood Gophers 3-4- Gained a game on the division leaders, and kept his distance from the cellar with the important victory.

6. Blowjays 3-4- Gained some ground, and has fought his way out of the cellar after a huge upset win.

7. Part Time Models 2-5- Finally found the street. Let's see if they can stay in the "top three" (in scoring) this week.

8. Coalition of the Thrilling 2-5- The standings say he's fourth, and this team barely beat the all-time low set by Timmy only two weeks ago. He'll need more consistency if he's gonna make it to the playoffs.

2. Hurricane Ditka (31) 4-2- Shattering the TCFL record for points in game that was set during the scoring difference of season I, but it doesn't change a two game hole behind the league's number one.

3. Bad Newz Kennels (4) 4-2- Still hot on a consistent basis, and leading the Dixon Conference standings.

4. Mezzbians 4-2- Injuries and byes aren't helping the cause.

5. Bushwood Gophers 2-4- Already three games out of second, and one game out of the cellar. Nice championship defense. Whatever, queer.

6. Coalition of the Thrilling 2-4- Just about where we'd thought he'd be at this point. His new, more balanced team may lead to a surge.

7. Blowjays 2-4- A nice win for Timmy over his arch rivals. The war for the toilet is officially underway for the Masons.

8. Part Time Models 1-5- Despite posting 92 points in week 6, he just didn't have the kind of luck he needed to garner a win. The street isn't getting any kinder to the models, who are now a solid game into the cellar coming into a very important week 7 match up.

4. Hurricane Ditka- 1-1- Palmer and Johnson won't show up like that every game. LT needs to get going, and finding a suitable number two becomes top priority.

5. Coalition of the Thrilling- 1-1- Nice win for the upstarts over a solid team.

6. Blowjays- 1-1- He looks alright despite the loss.

7. PTM- 1-1- House of cards exposed.

4. Part Time Models- Looking better than before. LJ immediately made this team formidable. He's got a nice warm up swing week one.

5. Blowjays- A very young, talented team in a very young talented conference. He's trying to get a leg up on the Coalition in game one.

6. Bonnie Blues- An explosive and capable team in a difficult conference. Can he end the streak?

7. Coalition of the Thrilling- Just too young to be highly rated in the pre-season.

8. Bad Newz Kennels- Just terrible.
